My Brother Knights,
This Memorial Day, we honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces. They were volunteers—brave Americans who stepped forward to defend our freedom. Many never came home. |
Across generations, hundreds of thousands have made the ultimate sacrifice. Each one leaves behind a story of courage, love of country, and devotion to something greater than self. Their service is a debt we can never fully repay—but we must never forget.
As Knights of Columbus, we proudly support our veterans and active-duty service members who serve around the globe. Our Fourth Degree members—many of whom are active or retired military personnel—hold in the highest esteem all those who have served our nation.
For active service members, we support the “Send a Hero Home” program, helping bring these brave men and women home to their families for the holidays. For our veterans, we provide assistance to veterans’ services through Fourth Degree fundraising events, as well as the Tank Pull. We strongly support these men and women who have given so much for their country.
Over the next few months, leading up to the 250th anniversary of our nation on July 4, let us continue to show our support for those who serve. When you meet active service members, take a moment to say, “Thank you for your service,” and let them know we care.
Please also pray for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and country. Let us pray that God welcomes them into His heavenly embrace.

My Brother Knights of NJ,
Hi. I hope you are all well and having a great Fall season.
I recently had the opportunity to be interviewed by Bishop Kevin Sweeney on the podcast “Beyond the Beacon” for the Paterson Diocese. I along with District Deputy Hector Jimenez and Field Agent Justin Carrasco were invited by Bishop Sweeney to talk about the Knights as an organization and our involvement in state of NJ and the Paterson Diocese.
All the activities and programs mentioned in this podcast were made possible by the good work you all do as Knights of Columbus. Thank you for giving me the opportunity as your State Deputy to speak so highly of you, and your charitable events and activities.
I thought this would be a good message to distribute. Please forward it to prospective members and your Council members, that do not have a registered email with the State.

Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney, curate at St. Mary's Parish in New Haven, Connecticut, the Knights of Columbus was chartered in the State of Connecticut on March 29, 1882.
As the Priest explained to a small group of men at a meeting in the basement of St. Mary's Church in October 1881, his purpose in calling them together was manifold: to help Catholic men remain steadfast in their faith through mutual encouragement, to promote closer ties of fraternity among them; and to set up an elementary system of insurance so that the widows and children of members in the group who might die would not find themselves in dire financial straits.
